Registration and Media Accreditation for the 3rd African Media Convention is Now Open

The Government of Ghana, through the Ministry of Information, the Ghana Journalists Association and other key stakeholders, has unveiled the registration and accreditation link for the 3rd African Media Convention (AMC) – www.3rdafricanmediaconvention.com/register/

“This is, indeed, a confirmation of the readiness of the country to host the 3rd AMC from 15th to 17th May, 2024 at the Accra International Conference Centre, in Accra.
‘It is jointly initiated and organised, in collaboration with the African media stakeholders and, in partnership with UNESCO and the African Union Directorate of Information and Communication,” says Albert K. Dwumfour, President of the Ghana Journalists Association and Co- chair of the AMC Local Organising Committee.

The AMC is the African version of the Global World Press Freedom Day and serves as a platform to bring together all the media stakeholders supporting the African media. The objective is to reflect on the fundamental role of journalism on the continent, celebrate the fundamental principles of press freedom, and deliberate on measures to safeguard media freedoms and promote the safety of journalists in AU Member States.

This 3rd Convention will also take stock of what has been achieved since the very successful 2018 World Press Freedom Day Global Conference, which was hosted by Ghana.

Furthermore, it will be an opportunity for networking and sharing of good practices by the various media personnel, journalism students and researchers, scholars, journalists’ unions and associations, editors, public and private sectors, CSOs, including cooperating partners from around the African continent and beyond, as well as representatives from UNESCO and the African Union and its Organs.
