CONGRESS COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN CLARIFIES DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE’S ACTIONS_
On behalf of the Congress Committee, I, Hon Alhassan Azong, Chairman, wish to address the recent statement released by the disciplinary committee.
While the disciplinary committee is a duly constituted body, it is important to note that the National Executive Committee (NEC) has not mandated it to sit on any specific issue or investigate any matter. Therefore, any actions or decisions taken by the disciplinary committee without NEC’s explicit mandate are unauthorized and ultra vires.
We urge all party members to remain calm and focused on the upcoming elections. No candidate, including Bernard Mornah has been disqualified, and the electoral process will proceed as scheduled.
We reiterate that the NEC has not received any report or recommendations from the disciplinary committee, and any claims or statements made by the committee are without merit and unconstitutional.
