Keli Gadzekpo Resigns As ECG Board Chair Following NAPO’s Gaffe

Keli Gadzekpo has resigned as the board chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) effective 9 April 2024.

In a letter to President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday (26 March), Gadzekpo cited personal reasons for his decision to resign.

He thanked the president for the opportunity to serve the country for the past seven years “in this significant role”.

Gadzekpo also wished ECG and the government continued success in the effort to provide stable electricity for the country.

But many have attributed his sudden resignation to the Energy Minister’s gaffe when he asked Ghanaians to publish their own load shedding schedule.

The Minister has since come under barrage of attacks from Ghanaians, the reason many are attributing Keli Gadzekpo’s resignation to his gaffe.
