Disqualification of Bernard Mornah: EC’s Actions Can Endanger the Peace we are enjoying: African Peace Ambassador Warns
African Peace Ambassador Togbuiga Goba has hinted that the actions of EC Chair Jean Mensa to disqualify PNC Flagbearer Bernard Mornah can endanger the peace we are enjoying.
He said a member of the young pioneer who experienced Ghana’s first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah trough to the present government, he is yet to come to terms with why a Presidential Candidate of a traditional party like the PNC would be disqualified by the Electoral Commission.
He described the disqualification as unacceptable and counterproductive to the peace of the country.
Tobguiga Goba made these statements in Accra on Sunday during his 80th birthday Celebration.
“ I’ve witnessed all governments from Nkrumah time as a young pioneer to the present, I have heard a disturbing news and I cant celebrate my birthday without commenting on it. That the EC has delisted Bernard Mornah on the EC list . This is shameful and unfortunate”, he stressed.
He added “what sin has Mornah committed that he can not be placed on the EC register to be elected as President”.,
“I want to make a strong appeal to the EC and other politicians to make sure that their actions and attitudes should bring peace and justice to our reverred Ghana.
I repeat it I want to appeal to the EC and all other Politicians to love peace and truth by putting Mornah’s name on the register. If the people don’t elect him that’s not the matter for the EC. He is a qualified Ghanaian”, the Octagenarian fumed.
The birthday celebration was graced by eminent chiefs and queens from the Volta region and Bernard Anbaayatela Mornah.
