Big Aidoo’s Brother Accused of Forming Illegal Taskforce for Galamsey Operations
A brother of the Western North Regional National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Richard Aidoo also known as Regal , has been accused of forming an illegal task force to intimidate miners while secretly engaging in galamsey operations.
According to sources, he has allegedly orchestrated the arrest of over 35 excavators at Awaso and Bibiani , extorted money from miners, and later redeployed the equipment under his control for a share in the illegal mining activities in the Nkateaso and Beposo forests
The source claims he boasts that no one can stop him due to the backing he receives from his brother Big Aidoo .
Additionally, he is accused of using these activities to undermine the party’s constituency leadership in pursuit of his ambition to contest as an MP.
Critics argue that he was absent during the 2024 elections but has reappeared to benefit from the party’s victory.
Initially presenting himself as an anti-galamsey advocate, he is now alleged to be exploiting the situation for personal and financial gain.
