Video: David Apesera’s Physical Attack of EC Officials at PNC Congress, Foiled As Police Drive him Away
The Defeated Presidential Aspirant of the PNC David Apesera on Saturday created a scenery at the PNC Congress when he stormed the declaration Centre to block the declaration of Mr. Bernard Anbataayatela Mornah as the winner of the race.
He was however unsuccessful as the police swiftly drove him away after nearly physically attacking them.
The former Leader of the PNC in the 2020 election claimed he had placed injunction on the Congress but the EC Officials insisted the EC has not been injected and therefore went ahead with the process.
His behaviour yesterday which many have described as despicable shocked many as Delegates can not fathom why he would sit down for the process to begin but rather turn up in fury at the time of declaration.
Analysts however believe that David Apesera, despite his alleged injunction on the Congress perhaps was hopeful of defeating the Party’s former Chairman but upon realizing the figures were not going in his favour, decided to give that Rambo movie like show down.
He managed only 216 votes as against Bernard Mornah’s 1354 votes.
Meanwhile, the PNC Flagbearership Elect, has extended an olive branch to David Apesera in the spirit of unity and vowed to hit the grounds running.
“My vision is a future where everyone has access to quality education, affordable healthcare, and job opportunities. A future where we work together to address the big challenges facing our country, like Galamsey climate change, corruption and inequality”, Mr. Mornah emphasized.
Mr. Samson Asaki Awingobit replaced Mr. Moses Daniba as Chairman of the Party whilst Ishak Awudu, Esther Osei Danso and Mark Ewusi Arko were elected as General Secretary , Womens Organizer and Youth Organizer respectively.
