Over 5,000 Catholics Participated in the Anti-Galamsey Prayer Walk
The Streets of Accra were awashed with huge crowd from the Catholic Arch Diocese of Accra protesting over the galamsey menace.
Dubbed as the “Prayer Walk” the long winding crowd began the walk from the Holy Spirit Cathedral, through to the Canadian Embassy and used the frontage of the Police Service and fire service to the Christ the King parish singing and reciting the rosary.
The solemnly and Peaceful nature of the Prayer walk has been commended by the Police as the Participants co-operated with the police.
The leadership of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra prayed and recited the rosary at the Christ the King Catholic Church after which they presented the petition to the seat of government.
The content of the petition includes a halt on mining on water bodies and immediate steps by government to rescue the polluted water bodies.
