Israel’s Bombardments in Palestine: Over 20 Ambassadors Unite In Solidarity With Palestine
Over twenty (20) Ambassadors in Accra have joined forces with the High Commission of Palestine in Solidarity against the heinous bombardments of Palestine and illegal occupation by Israel.
At a news conference in Accra on Friday (August 9, 2024) to mark the International Day of Support to the People of Gaza and Palestinian Prisoners, the Ambassadors, which included Pakistan, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, Malaysia and Angola among others expressed disgust at Israel’s continuous occupation of Gaza and condemned the bombardments and killing of the Palestinians.
The Ambassador of Pakistan to Ghana, H.E M.S Ayesha, in a solidarity remarks condemned the killing of the Chief Operations of Hamas last week by Israel and expressed Pakistan’s avowed commitment to support the people of Palestine against the oppressor.
Addressing the media, the Palestinian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Abdalfatah Ahmed Khalil Alsattari disclosed that Israel has since its bombardment killed about 69,599 Palestinians with 15000 being children 11,000 being Women and 116 being Journalists.
He also stressed that more than 10,000 Palestinians are under bombarded buildings adding that “we don’t know whether they are dead or alive”.
“Just yesterday they (Israel) bombed two schools and killed 15 people”, Mr. Alsattari revealed.
According to him, Israel is currently bombing schools hospitals, mosques, and water, depriving the people of basic their necessity, an act that must be condemned by all.
He emphasized that Israel, aside killing the Palestinians, are stealing their lands.
The Ambassador who expressed fury over Israel’s attacks on the people however maintained that people of Palestine would remain resolute and fight the illegal annexation of their lands by Israel.
“The world asked Israel to stop the killing of Palestinians but Israel wants to continue its apartheid and genocide against Palestinian people
They want to control our lives our water and our smiles”, the Ambassador fumed.
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is currently facing growing International pressure to agree a ceasefire and hostage release deal in Gaza but he remains adamant.
But the Palestinian Ambassador to Ghana insists that “If they want peace with the Palestinian people, they should go and sit on the table to talk for peace otherwise the Palestinians will continue the struggle”.
Mr. Alsattari is therefore calling on the International Community to pledge their support to the Palestinian people and condemn Israel’s actions, maintaining that Palestinians will one day have their freedom.
