Flagbearer of the NDac, John Dramani Mahama has appealed to Trade Unions to exercise restraint on their demands should he become the President in January 2025.

The Former President who was addressing the Trade Unions in the Volta region as part of Building Ghana Tour explained that the economy is broke and is in a mess as a result of Akufo Addo/Bawumia’s incompetence.

“Give us a break so that we can fix this mess created by NPP.

Give us a bit of honey moon so that we can fix the country and then accede to your demands”, Mr. Mahama stressed.

He revealed the NDC left a total debt 120 billion in 2017 which he said required each Ghanaian to pay gh 4000 to clear the debt.

He added that the Ghana’s debt stock under NPP has ballooned to 600 billion requiring Ghanaians to pay a whopping gh20,000.00 to be able to clear that debt.

He assured the Trade Unionists of his commitment to cut down government expenditure in order to fix the economy hence the appeal to them.

He also promised to hold a national stakeholders conference and reveal the books in which the state of the economy has been captured as a proof for the need to put the economy on a sound footing first before any other thing.
