Galamsey Fight: PNC Flagbearer Bernard Mornah and Running Mate Join Catholic Prayer Walk
Illegal mining popularly known as galamsey has decimated our environment polluting and poisoning our water bodies.
It is against this background that the PNC Flagbearer Mr. Bernard Anbaayatela Mornah and his running mate Joycelyn Akorfa Dotse joined the prayer walk organized by the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra.
Mr Monarh, emphasized the significance in demanding accountability from government officials regarding strategies to tackle illegal mining.
He commended the Catholic Church for its leadership in this initiative, calling it a crucial first step toward advocating for meaningful change.
According to him, this walk is essential as it seeks to demand answers from the government on how they plan to address this pressing issue.
Mr Monarh urged all Ghanaians to unite in this fight against galamsey, highlighting that collective action is necessary to hold public officials accountable for their decisions and actions that affect the environment and public health.
The prayer walk which begun at the Holy Spirit Cathedral saw over seven thousand (7,000) people participating and ended at the Christ the King Catholic Church.
The leadership of the Archdiocese of Accra presented a petition to the office of the President calling on the President take a swift action to end the galamsey.
