All Roads Lead to AICC for Grand Opening of 3rd African Media Convention
The grand opening of 3rd African Media Convention (AMC) is set for today at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The Day 1 which was held on Wednesday at the Labadi Beach Hotel witnessed insightful plenary, parallel sessions and contributions amongst participants, thereby making the Day 1, a successful one.
The Chief of Staff, Frema Opare is expected to open the coveted convention, which has drawn people from far and near to Accra.
Speakers at the opening include the GJA President, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, who characteristically is expected to electrify the hall with a stimulating speech.
Other Speakers are Minister for Information Designate, Fatimatu Abubakar, president of African Editors Forum (TAEF) Churchill Otieno who doubles as the Chairman of the 3rd AMC Steering Committee, Ms Leslie Richer who is the Director, Directorate of information and communication at AU Commission, Dr. Rita Bissoonauth, the Director Addis Ababa LO to AU and UNECA among other notable personalities.
Today’s ceremony which is under the theme: “The African Media We Want: Fit for Purpose in the 21st includes excursion for the over 300 foreign guests to tourist sites in the country.
The 3-Day AMC in Accra ends on Friday the 17th of May 2024 with a special dinner with President Akufo Addo who is expected to perform the closing ceremony.
